IEBT Program

Age:

Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application.

Previous Experience:

Must have 1) at least 2 years work experience in the desired field of training, or 2) must have completed university or professional school or 3) must have completed a trade/vocational apprenticeship in the profession you are seeking training at the time you apply for the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program (EVP). Students who are currently enrolled in their junior year at university may also apply.

Language:

Must possess sufficient English skills- speak, write, read and comprehend English well.

Financial Status:

In order to qualify for J-1 Visa, you must be able to prove (submit official letter from the bank along with a copy of a bank statement) that you are financially able to support yourself while in the US. ICLS recommends that you have at least $12,000 for a 12-month stay. A separate payment is required for the program tuition and fees and accident and health insurance.

Health:

Must be in good health, verified by a medical check and doctor’s statement. Applicants must have full accident and health insurance coverage for the entire training period. Ask for the application requirements for obtaining insurance.

Married Applicants:

Applications are accepted from married individuals. Spouse and children under 21 years of age will be admitted on a J-2 Dependent visa without authorization to work.

Home Country Residency Requirement:

The applicant must not have the intention to abandon their current country of residency for the United States. On contrary, an applicant must demonstrate the presence of strong ties to his/her home country and willing to contribute his/her new knowledge in their home country.
The applicant must submit accurate information about his/her professional/educational background in compliance with the J-1 visa exchange program recruitment policy. The application forms are available online here.
