group classes: INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM (IEP)
The
Intensive English Program (IEP) is designed for students, business managers, diplomats and other
professionals who seek to develop mastery of the English language. The program is a series of
four-week courses meeting 20 hours a week in small groups. The series includes 10 levels of
instruction. The IEP is offered at all levels meeting from 9:00 a.m. to
12:50 p.m., Monday through Friday. Groups consist of
from four to twelve students each. Emphasis is placed on speaking and listening comprehension.
Some students need only a few courses to achieve their desired level of proficiency. Other
students must begin with the basics and take all or most of the courses in the program. Incoming
students are given a placement test to determine their entry level. English is the only language
used in the classroom.
