The International Center
for Language Studies (ICLS), which has been
helping people improve their English for 40 years, may have just the
thing for you. The school’s new Saturday group class was designed to
meet the day-to-day needs of non-native speakers, especially those who
have lived in the Washington, DC area for some time. Whether you’re a
working professional, a student, a busy homemaker or even a tourist in
town for an extended stay, this class offers the opportunity to carve
out a few hours on the weekend to improve your English. Now there’s no
excuse not to make living and working in the Washington area a little
easier and more enjoyable.
The ICLS Saturday group class meets in eight-week
sessions from 9:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. The course curriculum is comprehensive in that it
incorporates speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Students
follow the ICLS methodology of induced discourse, a systematic oral
exchange between student and teacher focusing on developing native-like
sounds and structural sophistication. Incoming students are given a
placement test to determine their entry level and English is the only
language used in the classroom.
